Wooden structures.

Decks, pergolas, and gazebos built to last and finished with the same care I bring indoors. From the framing you never see to the railings and details you touch every day, the joinery is tight and the lines stay true. Here's how it goes.

The process

Built outdoors,
finished like furniture.

Outdoor structures take a beating from sun, rain, and weight. The way they're framed and fastened is what decides whether they still feel solid years from now.

01

Walk the site and talk through the design

I look at the space, how you want to use it, and how it ties into the house and yard, then we settle on a layout, materials, and a look that fits.

02

Plan the layout, footings, and materials

Spans, post spacing, and footings are planned so the structure carries its load. I help you weigh options like pressure-treated, cedar, or composite against budget and upkeep.

03

Set footings and posts

Footings are dug and poured, and posts are set plumb and square. This is the part nobody sees, and it's the part everything else depends on.

04

Frame it true

Beams, joists, and rafters go up level and square, fastened with the right hardware so the frame stays tight and quiet underfoot.

05

Decking, railings, and detail

Boards are laid with consistent gaps, railings and stairs are built solid and to height, and the trim is handled the way I'd handle interior finish work.

06

Seal and protect

Where it calls for it, the wood is cleaned and sealed or stained so it stands up to the weather and holds its color longer.
